Most people don't realize that large pieces of coral, which have been painted brown and attached to the skull by common wood screws, can make a child look like a deer.

I'm afraid I must part ways with Mr. Handey on this one. I would NEVER use wood screws to attach coral to a child's head!!! I'd used DRY WALL screws, as they're lighter, and still allow the child to get his or her bearings when left in the forest.
If you're gonna dress your child up like a deer this holiday season, teach them the importance of traffic safety first. I can't tell you how many of these deerkids I've seen on the side of the highways in my area. They've become a real nuisance for drivers.
DRYWALL SCREWS! I just don't know what to make of you Ms. Vera. I don't know whether I'd expect to bump into you in a Home Depot or the House of Nobles. But do you go to the extra effort of countersinking or just risk having the keen eye of the drunken hunter spot the screw heads because they stick out like... raised screw heads?
There are two schools of thought on that, Mr. someguy said. If you chose to countersink, the job isn't finished until you mud, then sand. The child will struggle a bit while this takes place, but it's my experience they'll be much more satisfied after all is said and done. If one leaves the screw heads protruding, they can be useful for hanging items, such as a thermos of hot coffee, or a POSTED: NO HUNTING sign.
And, yes, Mss said, any child left unattended is a traffic hazard. (But, of course, that's only my opinion.)
Awesome. Just Awesome. Every year it gets harder and harder to get that excited holiday feeling. This idea, coupled with your detailed instructions, has instantly vaulted me into the holiday spirit. Thank goodness I have a five year old.
